Globalisation of Tax Evasion

This is the third posting from the MOOC Edx course on globalisation from the University of Texas at Austin.

Wealthy people and corporations have been able to evade paying taxes by the use of offshore tax havens. A number of offshore tax havens around the world were previously little territories of the British empire -- places like Jersey and the Channel Islands and places in the eastern Caribbean, like the Cayman Islands -- they still remain in the British orbit and the finance houses of London. Tax havens are also used by transnational crime organisations and some 'offshore' tax havens can be found in the heart of USA, as in Delaware.
